DWM FOUNDERS

Dan and Aurea Evans Dan was born and raised in the U.S., in the state of Washington, the first of two sons of Robert and Shirley Evans. Dan attended Simpson College in San Francisco, a Bible college operated by the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Following college, he worked for Bank of America for more than 33 years in computer systems (designing database systems) and corporate communications (as a speech and editorial writer). Dan has been involved in lay ministry all of his adult life as a director and producer of Christian radio and television programming, church sound and lighting system design and engineering, as a musician, script writer, and event producer. Dan also managed or coached Christian musical groups, directed drama and concert productions, provided business and technical counseling to a number of ministries, and served on the board of Phoenix Calvary Temple church in Phoenix, Arizona.

Aurea was born and raised in Wali, Maitum in the Philippines. She is the daughter of Alfredo and Lillian Desaville. Aurea spent her youth involved with church ministry in her village and was a youth leader. She attended college to obtain her nurses training and then served with the Salvation Army for several years with island ministry teams. Aurea spent several years in South Korea as an English teacher in a Christian school. Aurea has one daughter, Jennifer.

Dan and Aurea were married in the U.S. in September, 2005.

Both Dan and Aurea feel that God has blessed their lives immensely, separately and now together. They also believe that God brought them together and appointed them to found and operate the Datu Wali Mission. Their relocation to the Philippines is permanent. They have pledged all of their financial and material resources, their talent and abilities to this work and will someday be buried in the Desaville family plot on the land they are working.
